Do You Truly Love Him?

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deut 6:5

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This is one of those phrases of the Bible most people pay little or no attention to. Because the Bible asks us, any day we can call, ‘Today’, to always remind ourselves about God, His truths and our sinfulness, we should spend some moment to check our understanding of this phrase. Could it be applicable to us? Am I, in some strange way, a hater of God? Are you?

How do we know if secretly we are haters of God? We know by our disposition to His revealed words and commandments. “You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you”. John 15:14. Do we really think God has the right to tell us how we should live? Can He really tell us we should not steal or commit adultery or fornication or kill or curse or use swear words? Can He tell us not to say evil of people at their backs? Can we not convert public properties to our own private use and ownership?

Does He really have the right to tell us we must not be homosexuals or lesbians? Since this is the pull we feel is ‘normal’ to us about sex and sexuality, can’t He be content by our living the way we feel happy about? Is He not happy once we are happy with our lives? We read, “Thou shall not kill”; is abortion, killing?

John 15:23 He that hates me hates my Father also  – Jesus Christ.

Quite imperceptibly, but very truly, any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, in the theory of evolution or any other thought, that the world, by any means, came to be and or is sustained, apart from God, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Quite imperceptibly, but very truly, any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, that God is wicked in demanding obedience to His laws and exacting punishment, including eternity in hell for unconfessed sins and evil or any thought in that respect, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, in any religious theory that deviates or denigrates from the work of pardon done by the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief that God can be deceived to look away from His just laws broken by you on the basis of alms given to the poor or other good services done either to ‘God’ or your fellow men, as espoused by Islam, something you know will not be accepted even by human judicial authorities upon violation of their laws, is a sign that you are a denigrater and a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, in the theory that all and every thing seen and unseen is God and must be worshipped and served, equating ants, rats, human beings,  snakes, cattle, rivers, mountains, planets, sun and moon or other animate or inanimate objects with the Almighty, as you have in Hinduism and animist religions, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, that you can give instructions, commands or orders to the Almighty, something every human knows is against nature, seeing that the promoters of these theories would never allow their subordinates or children to do similar things to them, as espoused by Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Enock Adeboye, David Oyedepo, Mike Murdoch, Creflo Dollar and thousands of their fellow Pentecostal idol worshippers, is a sign that you are a hater of God. These preachers are haters of God: they barely hide their hatred for God and His sovereign power over His creations.

Every form of idolatry or belief in superstition or luck, no matter how seemingly reasonable, since these beliefs detract from the sovereignty, holiness and power of God, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any form of careless use of swear words or appeal to the name of God when there is really no need to do so, something He warned must never be done, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Every form of ill-will to a person out of envy or jealousy on the basis of his achievements, possessions or look, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief in karma or re-incarnation, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief in and practice of black or white magic, omens,  trafficking with or communicating with spirits of the earth, rivers, mountains, trees, animals or dead people, such as self-confessed by Benny Hinn, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Any tinge of a belief, no matter how small, that there is no life after life and no judgment on how we live our lives here on earth, and we can do and say anything we like at any time in any way, is a sign that you are a hater of God.

Anyone who celebrates anyone doing or approving the doing of any of the foregoing or any other act that impugns on the character, holiness and Person of God is a hater of God.

Have you been a hater of God? God continues to forgive everyone who truly comes to Him in repentance through the Lord Jesus Christ. He forgives his haters who turn back to Him through His only begotten Son before it is too late.
